Terms

Last updated 6 November 2026

These terms cover your use of Magnetico, a daily game for learning Portuguese. By creating an account or logging in, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Magnetico. How we handle your data is on the Privacy page.

Who we are

Write to us at ola@playmagnetico.com.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • An account is for one person. You are responsible for what happens under it.
  • You log in with your email address or your Google account. Anyone with access to those can use your account, so keep them secure.

Your content

You own the poems you write and the opinions and replies you post in Hot Takes (and any corrections you posted before we stopped taking them). You give us permission to store them and show them in Magnetico under your username:

  • poems, to anyone who plays that game, logged in or not;
  • Hot Takes posts, to anyone who opens that take, on its day or later.

This permission is free, worldwide, and ends when you delete your account. You confirm that what you publish is your own work.

Send Street Tutor only photos you are allowed to share. Leave out other people’s faces and private details.

Written by AI, and can be wrong

Street Tutor explanations and “check my Portuguese” corrections are written by AI. Dictionary entries and translations can also contain mistakes. Check anything that matters.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • publish anything hateful, harassing or unlawful, spam, or anyone else’s private information;
  • access or try to access another person’s account;
  • disrupt Magnetico, get around its limits, or copy its content in bulk or by automated means.

If these terms are broken, we may remove content and suspend or close the account. We will tell you why, unless the law or safety stops us. If you think we got it wrong, write to ola@playmagnetico.com.

Our content

Magnetico, its design, its word entries and its recordings belong to us. The texts belong to their authors. You may use all of it for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You may not republish or resell it.

Ear Gym clips belong to whoever made them. They play in YouTube’s player, after you press play, under YouTube’s terms.

Tips and past games

  • Magnetico is free to play. Today’s game and the two before it are always open.
  • Tips are voluntary.
  • A single tip of €10 or more opens every past game for as long as Magnetico runs. A smaller tip opens nothing, and tips don’t add up.
  • The access is linked to the email address you gave at payment or the account you were logged in to, and you can’t transfer it.
  • Stripe processes payments, in euros.
  • Payment methods that take time (Multibanco, MB WAY) open the games once the payment arrives.
  • You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of paying, for any reason, by writing to ola@playmagnetico.com. This covers your legal right to withdraw. A refund ends the access the tip opened.

Changes to Magnetico

We may change, suspend or discontinue Magnetico or any part of it. We will give reasonable notice of a change that affects you significantly.

Disclaimers and liability

Magnetico is provided as it is. We take care over it, but we don’t guarantee that it will run without interruption or errors, or that every translation is correct.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or €10 if that is more.

Nothing here limits liability that the law does not let us limit, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

Ending your account

You can delete your account in Settings at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms. The Privacy page says what is deleted and what is kept.

Changes to these terms

If we make a significant change, we will email you before it takes effect. If you keep using Magnetico after that, you accept the new terms. If you don’t accept them, you can delete your account.

Law and disputes

Portuguese law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law where you live and can take a claim to a court there.

If something goes wrong, write to us first at ola@playmagnetico.com. Consumers in Portugal can also use an out-of-court dispute centre, the CNIACC (Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo), and the electronic complaints book, Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico.

If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
